Coastal Calm marks the quiet beginning of my South Collection.
Taken from one of my many en plein air sketches during my art residency on the South Coast, it reflects winter walks along the beautiful beaches of the Jurassic coast. 
 
A cool, muted palette carries the mood of the day: heavy grey clouds pressing low, with pale sunlight slipping through just long enough to brush the damp shoreline.
 
This drawing was one of many quick studies made to catch the essence of that place and moment. These small visual notes are an integral part of my jewellery designs.

I wanted this print to feel special, so it's a very limited edition.  I've worked with a small, family run printers to capture the special quality of the original watercolour sketch on archival paper and I'm delighted with the final results. 
 
It's always hard to choose a sketch to accompany a collection. I felt Coastal Calm encapsulated the gentle cool palette of my time there, the mood... as ever, it was a true moment in time.
 
Your print is 15cm x 21cm (including border) and will arrive hand wrapped in biodegradable cellophane, with a certificate of authenticity.
