FIND THE PERFECT FIT

The most accurate way to measure your finger (or wrist) size is to pop into my studio (if you are local) or visit your local jeweller to have your size taken professionally. Of course, this isn't always possible or convenient so here is a handy guide to finding your ring size at home.

I make use of the UK letter sizing system. If you know your size based on another system our guide will provide you with the correct conversion. See the charts below for more on how to determine your ring or bangle size.

HALLMARKING

Hallmarking refers to a mark that is applied to pieces of precious metals (platinum, gold, palladium or silver), which shows that it has been independently tested and verified and therefore conforms to all legal standards of purity or fineness. In the UK it is a legal requirement that any Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium items (over a certain weight) intended for sale, be hallmarked.  The hallmark of a UK Assay Office is proof that an item (in all its parts) is of the standard of fineness indicated by the hallmark struck on that item.

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

  • Take your jewellery off if you're involved in any activity which could scratch, knock or damage it. If in any doubt, take it off and keep it safe.

  • Take it off when you go to bed.

  • Keep it well away from chemicals, especially chlorine. If it does come into contact with chemicals, rinse it in water immediately.

  • Bathe and apply any lotions or perfumes before you put your jewellery on. Organic gemstones like pearls and opals are particularly vulnerable to acids, even perspiration.

  • Store it separately, ideally in a soft-lined box or case, so that your favourite pieces don't tangle, rub or scratch one another. Pearls in particular should be kept separately as they are easily scratched by hard gemstones.

  • Make sure chains and necklaces are fastened when storing to avoid tangling.

  • Remove jewellery while cooking and cleaning.

  • When storing jewellery, please keep it away from sunlight, excessive heat or damp conditions.
