On those low-light winter days of my art residency along the South Coast, the land and seascape often felt soft and calm. From those quiet moments emerged a very special design for a necklace, one that unfolded slowly over time. As always, what surfaced was something simple and understated, yet rooted in rugged, elemental forms.
My South Coast Drift necklace captures the quiet beauty of winter’s muted palette… the soft silvers, pearlescent lilacs and the gentle glow of the shore on a cold day. The fluid drop has been textured with gentle layers of hammer strikes echoing the surrounding cliffs and curved around a sea-worn pebble, creating a piece that feels both natural and thoughtfully refined.
Finished with an exquisite pearl on a delicate chain, it carries a subtle, restless movement when worn, echoing the great ocean: quiet in the moment, yet very much alive. I’m absolutely delighted with this little gem of coastal elegance.
